Why are Community Sponsorship Programs Important?

Community Sponsorship Programs

Our teams, full of the love of God, look to bring love, joy, and peace to hurting hearts through our Community outreaches. However, as we reach out to the spiritually poor we are confronted by their physical poverty as well and it would be an incomplete Gospel if we didn’t stop and put our faith into action. Community sponsorship programs provide resources to meet the unique needs of children to alleviate poverty and bring sustainable transformation.

Many of our Community Programs focus on supporting families. Healthy families create healthy children! For the children who are in our full-time care, we are always working toward family restoration when possible.

One of our main goals within our Community Programs is to lend strength to families so at-risk children are able to stay in their families and grow up healthy and strong!
Giving Families Strength

Poverty is one of the main reasons children end up in orphanages or care centers. We know the best place for most children to be is within a small family unit. By strengthening families and lifting them up, we can prevent children from entering children centers or orphanages. We are passionate about facilitating family reconciliation. We know strong communities are built on strong families, which build strong and healthy kids!

Whenever people come together with the same goal, synergy is created to work together in solving issues with creativity and efficiency. Individuals can rely on one another by building trust and understanding, while also upholding each other to core values decided upon by the community. Having accountability in or out of the process is necessary for overall growth. When you have people surrounding you, challenging you, and encouraging you, a vital ecosystem for healthy relationships is formed.

Generations can learn from one another. Wisdom and history can be passed down. Children can learn from one another, by experience or sharing experiences, and by being taught by the elders in the community. What a beautiful thing to see stories and experiences passed down this way! Children should have a chance to learn from the oldest people in the community, and take into consideration the elders’ worldview as they learn and explore on their own. It truly takes a village.
